Beyond the Basics: Economic Development
In this course, you will gain a solid understanding of the key elements driving economic development: strategic site selection, business retention and expansion and using labor market data. Learn how to effectively engage with site consultants and make informed decisions by evaluating potential locations using data and analysis. Discover best practices for supporting local businesses, fostering growth and creating a thriving economic environment. Additionally, you’ll explore how to leverage labor market insights to attract investment and support workforce planning. By the end of the course, you’ll have the tools and knowledge to lead economic development initiatives that create real impact.
This course includes approximately 1.5 hours of content and provides support for skills and competencies within the Chamber Body of Knowledge areas of Economic Development and Talent Attraction. Short assessments are included after each presentation. Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate of completion, shareable social graphics and three Certified Chamber Executive (CCE) points. Assignment and assessment grading, along with certificate awards, take place every Friday for all tasks completed within the preceding week.
